As I start this blog, I have to update everyone on the events of the past two weeks:
May 16, 2008 was a big day! Not only was I preparing to go to New York City the next day with Kristi and Mom and Judy, but it was the day I had waited for patiently for two weeks to know if we had a little "bean" (our pet name for the baby) on the way. I was very suspicious that I was, but waited as long as I could to actually take the test. I woke up at 3am that morning, but I willed myself to wait until close to 6am to take the pregnancy test. It was a long 3 minutes, but the test showed positive! I woke Marty to tell him the news. Both of us are very excited, but also guarded. We hope so much for a healthy pregnancy for we know it is not something to be taken for granted.
May 28 was our first official doctor visit. My doctor confirmed very healthy Hcg elevations from the blood tests I had undergone earlier in the week. We are scheduled for the first ultrasound on June 4, the day we return from vacation, and we are looking very forward to that day. I will be about 7 weeks along by then.
We are going to the beach this weekend with the Koonts family, as well as Matt's family from St. Louis. We are looking forward to the trip!
