Our First Bath

The boys umbilical cords finally fell out this week, so we had our first real bath last night. Aunt Kristi came down to help. It was a four person process, Kristi taping/photography, Mom holding other twin, Marty on towel duty and me, being the bad guy who was making them mad!!! Noah seemed to be OK with everything for most of the process, but got somewhat fussy towards the end. Lucas, of course was the SCREAMER! We tried out their cute Cow Towels! The whole thing sure did tire them out. They slept from 7 to 10 last night and then were fussy quite a few times during the night. We may try for bath time in the mornings from now on!

Our First Visit to Our Nursery!

We made a quick trip upstairs to our nursery this morning for a photo op. It is a warm up for our newbon pictures to be made this weekend. It was nice to have some brother time too! We are also having our first real bath tonight. Pictures will be posted tomorrow!

Our Little Houdinis!

We swaddle both boys at night in their blankets, with all their limbs inside the blanket. It seems to keep them more content and happy, and anytime they are fussy we do the same thing. They have now managed to figure out how to escape!

First Family Shot

The Lucas and Noah Smith Show

We had another trip to the pediatrician yesterday, and both boys were up over their birth weights. Lucas weighed five pounds and one ounce and Noah weighed five pounds and ten ounces. They are both eating well, and sleeping remarkably well. Even so, it leaves me rare opportunities to post pictures to the blog and Facebook. The days seem to go by so fast. Both boys are starting to show their personalities. Lucas is a total drama queen, maybe a little like his Mom, and Noah is so laid back, and really just interested in eating and sleeping, maybe a little like his Dad. We love them more and more every day! Here are some pictures from the weekend. Some of our friends and family came to visit.

It's really hard to show how small the boys actually are. The pictures on the blog don't do it justice. So, I put a beanie baby and a water bottle up to them to demonstrate how small they are.

End of Week Two

Well, we have reached another weekend in the Smith household. Both boys slept through the night again last night except for their feedings which we had to wake them. Marty and I actually feel very well rested. We had an appointment yesterday to see a lactation consultant. She was very good and gave us some good tips on how to get started and to make it work! She weighed the boys and they are both almost back to their original birth weights. Lucas weighed abut 4 lbs 15 ounces, and Noah was at 5 pounds, seven ounces. They both behaved very well, and enjoyed their field trip out of Lake Wylie.

Nana and Grandmommy were here part of the week to help, but its just Mommy and Daddy this weekend, although we expect quite a few visitors to come this weekend to meet Noah and Lucas.

So, here are pictures from the last few days! Can you tell them apart yet?
