Out of Commission....

For those of you who do not know, a week ago I had my tonsils removed. So, I abandoned my blog duties, and I believe I deserved the break! I have had a very good recovery. I am still in a moderate amount of pain, but I have been able to manage my pain with my medication as well as LOTS of liquids and Freezie Pops!

Mom spent all of last week with me to help with the boys, but her moral support was much more appreciated, and I really enjoyed having her here to visit. I've napped more the past week than I have in the past three years put together and it has been heavenly!

I don't go back to work until July 6th, so I still have more days to recover. Not 100% yet, but I am getting there.

In the meantime, here is a photo for all you addicts!

Yes, She's Still With Us....

Jessy got to come out and spend a little time with us on Sunday. This was before her bath....unfortunately, she didn't look any less orange after her bath! But, she was still happy to be clean!

First Lake Trip of the Summer...

We ventured out with our neighbors for our first boat trip of the summer. Man, what a difference a year makes! We only went out twice last year because it was close to impossible with two 18 month olds. They were so much better this year, and their life jackets fit more comfortably. We had a great time! There was lots of swimming and a lot of sleeping after too! :)

Lots of Boys!

Three little boys and one big boy!! :)

We have created a pact with our neighbors to help each other babysit so that we can have some date nights. Both sets of our parents live out of town, so it is nice to have people you trust to help with the boys. Ron and Andrea kept the twins back in February for us, and they are now just cashing in their first babysitting award! It works out great because our boys enjoy each other so much that they don't even realize their parents are gone. We enjoyed having Dillon for the evening! So did Lucas and Noah! There was lots of bike riding, a long walk, popsicles, CARS (the movie), and a lot of snoring at the end of the night!

On a side note, much to this Mommy's chagrin, anytime Noah sees the camera pop out, his big cheesy smile comes out, along with the word, "CHEESE"! It's killing the candids!

A Big Step....

On Memorial Day, we put the boys down for their afternoon nap. Noah had fallen asleep in the car, so he went right down. Lucas was still awake, but they are pretty good nappers, so we just put him in his bed, and went on to doing some chores. About ten minutes into the nap, I turned around and Lucas was sitting on the bottom step. He had crawled out and come all the way downstairs.

For bedtime, same scenario, same result for Lucas, except he brought his partner in crime on this trip down. So, now the cat was out of the bag...and the animals were out of their cage. So, the next night, we converted their beds to toddler beds. Night One and Two were horrible, but the novelty now seems to have worn off. I've been having to stay in their room in the rocking chair to supervise, but they have been doing well.

Another milestone...another day away from those sweet little babies they once were!

Old Friends....

Our friend Allison was visiting for the weekend, so she came to visit us at Andmommy and Pa's house. We had a great time! One particular boy misbehaved for most of the pictures!

Project Door...

So, for the long holiday weekend, Marty headed to the Outer Banks to fish with friends...and Lucas and Noah spent most of the weekend with Nana, which left Mommy lots of free time to tackle projects. The first of several included refinishing our front door. It was so beautiful when we moved in but three years of the afternoon sun baking it has not been good! Marty was not sure about me taking on this project as he had the NERVE to question my sanding/staining skills! Whatever! Anyway, its not perfect, but it still looks about 100 times better than it did before!

Here is the bottom of the door, completely baked...

The top of the door is shaded, so you can see the differences in the wood...

Beginning of the staining and sanding process....

And, the finished project! With an A+ from my very particular husband! :)
